Are you an aspiring theatre journalist? Then this is the brief for you.

Theatre Local is a new strand of the Royal Court’s work, taking productions out Sloane Square home and placing them in alternative spaces at the heart of London life. The programme began in 2010 in an empty shop unit in Elephant and Castle’s shopping centre. In 2011, it then moved to The Bussey Building in Peckham, which is where we will be returning this summer with two plays, Belong by Bola Agbaje and Vera Vera Vera by Hayley Squires as well as a series of free workshops and events will be available for the local community. Find out more here.

We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic theatre lover who is up for watching, writing, breathing and sleeping plays – plays in Peckham in particular. They will get the opportunity to meet the cast, creatives and writers, attend the launch event, see the plays and be part of Theatre Local 2012.

After that, you will be expected to send us a 500-word round-up which will be published in IdeasMag – and you may also get the chance to interview a cast/crew member (TBC).

This brief closes at 5pm on Friday 25 May at 5pm and is open to IdeasTap members aged 16 to 25. If you have any technical queries, please visit our Help Centre. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, including technical issues – so make sure you don’t leave your application to the last minute.
