It’s March – the month of denial, fasting, lent; learning what it’s like to live a life of hunger.

For some of us, this is characterised by pancakes. For others, it’s a time of deep reflection.

But the Editor’s Brief loves a double meaning, so we’ve gone for a word with many interpretations – from speedy vehicles and people of questionable morals to abstinence from food - this month the theme is... "FAST".

As always, this is a multi-disciplinary brief, so you can respond with anything from film to fiction.

The person who submits the best piece of work will win £300 and become part of our IdeasTap alumni. Two runners up will also win £100 each.

The work can be in any discipline you like, but it must relate to the theme. Due to an increasing amount of volume, members can only apply once. Your single entry is limited to:

Audio and video – no longer than two minutes

Text – no longer than 1,000 words

Images/photos – no more than two
