Peter De Haan
Peter De Haan is a businessman and philanthropist. He is the founder and Chairman of The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust and the Chief Executive of IdeasTap.
In autumn 2009, after noticing the lack of opportunities for young people at the start of their careers as his children graduated, Peter decided to launch online arts charity IdeasTap. Now an independent charity with over 50,000 members, IdeasTap helps young creatives at the start of their careers. In spring 2010, in response to the financial crisis, Peter pioneered an innovative model of collaborative working for UK arts charities dubbed Under One Roof, whereby organisations share premises, resources and ideas in order to expand.
Previously, as Chief Financial Officer at Saga, Peter gained vast experience in direct and affinity marketing across areas of holidays, publishing and financial services. Selling his share stake in 1999, Peter set up various businesses and the charitable trust, now specialising in youth, arts and environmental projects. The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust has donated over £18,963,000 to the benefit of over 520 organisations since it was constituted in 1999.
Sebastian Redford
Hello! I'm Sebastian. Most recently you'll have seen me in action as the Marketing Manager for IdeasTap but before that I had a long (!) and interesting career working in and around the agency world. I managed to avoid a university career and via a heady mix of estate agency, headhunting and other such joyous activities – wound up in marketing. Since then I have worked with agencies such as Idea Generation and Saatchi & Saatchi on brands such as Absolut Vodka, TOMS, Clarks Originals, Diageo and many more. Idea Generation specialises in the promotion of culture, so I've worked on many campaigns for anything from music festivals through to immersive theatre events.
Dagmar Walz
Originally from Germany, Dagmar moved to London 20 years ago because of her enthusiasm for British theatre. After studying arts management, she found a job with the Education Department of the Royal Shakespeare Company, the beginning of a successful career in arts management. Dagmar has worked for some of the UK’s leading performing arts organisations, including the National Theatre, English National Opera and The Old Vic. She has worked across a range of functions – education and learning, marketing and PR, audience development, project and general management. Fundraising, particularly from government sources, is one of her specialities. Dagmar joined the Peter De Haan Charitable Trust and IdeasTap Ltd as Executive Director in August 2011.
