Imagine having your photographs reviewed by Magnum.

Imagine those photographs then being showcased on IdeasTap for a month and viewed by thousands of visitors, including senior members of Magnum staff... And just imagine receiving personal feedback and career advice from your Magnum judge... Well, stop dreaming, because that is exactly what we’re offering.

Continuing Magnum’s commitment to emerging photographers, the Magnum Showcase is an opportunity for IdeasTap members to have a recent body of work reviewed by a Magnum photographer or senior staff member, showcased on IdeasTap and followed up by some fantastic feedback and advice for the development of your work from the Magnum judge.

All you need to do is upload a strong, concise edit of 10 to 20 images on a theme, along with 100 words explaining your project. And this month’s theme is... HOME.

This month’s judge is Magnum photographer Christopher Anderson. Christopher was born in Canada in 1970 and grew up in west Texas. He first gained recognition for his pictures in 1999, when he boarded a handmade wooden boat with Haitian refugees trying to sail to America. The boat, named Believe In God, sank in the Caribbean. In 2000 the images from that journey would receive the Robert Capa Gold Medal.

Christopher is the author of two monographs: Nonfiction, published in 2003, and CAPITOLIO, published in 2009 by RM and named one of the best photography books of 2009/10 at the Kassel Photo Book Festival in Germany.

The theme of HOME is inspired by Christopher's work Son, dealing with his experience of being a father and a son.

How to apply

  • Hi Zoe, no you don't need to provide a link to every single photograph - please provide a link to the portfolio set where all of the images sit together.

  • Do I need to add a link to every photograph in the portfolio I'm submitting? And does it matter if the description actually on my portfolio page is longer than 100 words? Thanks Zoe
