In the likeness of.. is a new contemporary dance performance by Konstantina Skalionta, that explores the dynamics of the mother and daughter relationship. The female duet questions the feminine identity, the emotional attachment between mother and daughter and their need to identify with each other. As they attempt to seek their own individuality will they break away from each other or will they remain connected with an invincible umbilical cord? Can their detachment be redemptive or will it be traumatic? The performance celebrates the complexity and endurance of this relationship.

Choreographer Konstantina Skalionta collaborates with the artist Bea Bonafini and the musician Irma Vastakaite, in order to bring together on stage contemporary dance, visual arts and live music. In the likeness of.. will be presented on Wednesday, 21st of January 2015 at 8pm, at the Place, as part of the biggest festival for new dance in the UK: Resolution! Konstantina Skalionta has previously won commission to develop performances for the dance platform Women of Mass Destruction 2 (RichMix) and Surrey Dance Festival 2014 (Glive Theatre). She is currently co-producing Kaleidoscopic Arts Platform with Lucia Schweigert.

The evening will include works by Fuora Dance Project and CieMulator Dance.
