Based in London, Fourth Monkey are an actor training company offering innovative and contemporary ensemble actor training in repertory.

Shortlisted for The Stage Awards’ School of the Year, the company is an award winning production company too and is unique in offering professional employment opportunities to it’s students upon completion of training via the associated Fourth Monkey Ensemble, a successful and critically acclaimed touring company borne exclusively of graduates from the training programme.

The taster workshops will be an introduction to Fourth Monkey’s Ensemble way of working. Inspired by the diverse and eclectic works of Grotowski, Lecoq, Meisner and our partners Told by an Idiot the Fourth Monkey actor training programme offers a fresh and collaborative approach to actor training that empowers both individual and collective creative development.

The session will include two main elements: A Complicte-based element on Ensemble and a Character Building element with an emphasis on tension states, archetypes and building characters through physicality. There will also be opportunity to chat with staff and students about the company in an informal environment before and after the workshop.
