What is it that the wardrobe department really does and what resources are available to you if you want to work in wardrobe?

The wardrobe department is responsible for all the costumes used in the production. They work closely with the Costume Designer during the run up to a new show. This work can include sourcing and/or making costumes, gathering size information from the cast; costume fittings and alterations.

During the running of a show they are responsible for the upkeep of all costumes taking care of any cleaning and mending that needs doing. They may also need to assist Actors with quick costume changes.
