A week at the Tap

A week at the Tap

By Luiza 28/01/11

It's been a busy week at IdeasTap: last-minute venue changes, poetry workshops, the launch of an amazing new Old Vic brief and winners announced for both Ideas Fund Edinburgh and Innovators. Phew...

This week, poet Jack Underwood and poetry collective Clinic hosted a workshop at IdeasTap HQ with the winners of our Poet brief – IdeasTap’s Assistant Editor Hattie was there to capture the magic (and the orange-peel moustaches)…

Hattie also did a round up of her favourite female photographers in Pick ’n’ Mix, Web Assistant Joe blogged about cat videos (pictured above) and Patti Smith, while I pondered the pitfalls of early literary success in Write Now.

We launched the US/UK Exchange brief in partnership with Old Vic New Voices – we’re looking for British and American theatre makers to swap lives for a week. It’s a bit like your French exchange trip, with added West End/Broadway bigwigs and fewer baguettes. Read about how last year’s participants got on

Today we announced the winners of Ideas Fund Edinburgh and Innovators! Congratulations to all. We’ll be sharing more info about the winners’ projects in the coming weeks.

The Coming Up creative team – who are putting on an amazing FREE multi-disciplinary arts festival in late February – announced their schedule and a venue change. We also caught up with one of the creative directors, Daisy Evans, who is staging Silent Opera. If you want to get involved, apply to be a volunteer.

IdeasTap member Bridget Orr took us on a tour of Glasgow’s creative hotspots. We’re looking for more guides to British cities, towns, villages and hamlets, so if you want to tell IdeasTap readers why your hometown’s arts scene is special, drop me a line.

Happy weekend!
