Producers, actors, artists and even magicians – you’re all up to different tricks. So as usual we’ve put together a round up of some of the marvellous things our members are pulling out of the hat this month…
Michael Berliner
Producer Michael Berliner has made a short comedy, School Portrait (pictured above), shot on a shoestring budget of £200. Based on a school photography session for six-year-olds and set in a British school, this viral film is raising international spirits, racking up half a million views in one weekend. See for yourself.
Louise Orwin
Louise produces work that spans the live and the recorded, with performance, video and photography. In her latest incarnation she is putting on 12 Days of Christmas at the BAC’s Freshly Scratched Christmas special this week.
Josh Sneesby
Not only is Josh Sneesby a member of our partners the National Youth Theatre’s Rep Company, he is also currently appearing in one of our favourite West End shows – as frontman for the on-stage band in One Man, Two Guvnors at the Adelphi Theatre.
Jake Banfield
Magician Jake was called out to entertain the troops at the IdeasTap Christmas party this year. He left us genuinely stunned by his dab-handed tricks so we’re wishing him masses of luck for his audition with Objective Productions in January for a new magic show for E4. Keep an eye out for his showreel, coming soon to his IdeasTap profile.
Amy Lord
As a live artist and designer Amy recently won our Ideas Fund Innovators and Arts Council funding too. For just one week in January she will be taking over a space in the heart of Deptford to create a pop-up crafts activities shop and take-away archive. It’s a place for the community to meet, so pay her a visit.
