Once again we’ve teamed up with Magnum Photos and The Photography Show to offer 30 talented young photographers the chance to have their work exhibited. Here are the 60 who’ve made the shortlist…
Competition was fierce for this year’s 30 Under 30 brief.
A total of 664 photographers, from all over the world, submitted their pictures on the theme of “documentary photography covering social issues”. But our keen-eyed industry judges – photography journalist Gemma Padley, FT Weekend Magazine deputy picture editor Josh Lustig and Magnum photographers Chris Steele-Perkins and Moises Saman – have whittled it down to a shortlist of 60.
And they are…
Michael Vince Kim
Ian Thomas Jansen-Lonnquist
Maria Paloma Velazquez
Jamie E. Murray
Jordi Ruiz Cirera
José Sarmento Matos
Carolyn Van Houten
Felix von der Osten
A huge well done to all 60! And thank you to everyone who applied.
From this shortlist, the judges will now pick 30 winners, to be announced in the week commencing 9 February 2015.
As well as having their work shown at The Photography Show in March, winners will attend exclusive portfolio reviews with photography industry experts.
They’ll also automatically be nominated for three “people’s choice” awards, voted for by the public, via social media. The three award winners will have their work showcased on The Photography Show and Magnum Photos websites.
