Video: Rebecca Hall

Rebecca Hall tells us why auditions are so difficult, why she became an actress, and why preparing for a stage role is nothing like preparing for a first day on set...

Rebecca Hall has been a professional actress since the age of eight. Having been in films such as Starter for 10 and The Prestige, she took on a starring role in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, earning herself a Golden Globe nomination.

Just as her Hollywood career was exploding, she made the brave – and unusual – decision to spend a year on stage, touring internationally as part of the Bridge Project, a transatlantic production in which British and American actors and creatives teamed up to stage Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale and Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard.

We caught up with Rebecca backstage at The Old Vic, where the Bridge Project played for six weeks.

Watch interviews with Rebecca's castmates, Ethan Hawke and Simon Russell Beale.
