EXPLAINING OUR FUNDING SCHEMES: ARTS FUNDING FOR YOUNG CREATIVES
Information on all our funds and how to apply is broken down into six parts:

1) BUDGET
- You’ll need to outline your project’s budget on the application form when applying for all of our funds
- If you’ve never created a budget before, talk to someone who has
- Make enquiries to find out how much everything costs. Negotiate where possible!
- Use our forums and contact other members on IdeasTap to get first-hand advice

2) IDEAS FUND INNOVATORS
What is it?
- It’s always open, so you can apply at any time
- There are 10 prizes of £1,000 per quarter
- You can apply with any creative idea, whatever discipline you work in
Checklist
- Read the Terms and Conditions – you’ll find these on the brief page
- You must be 16-25 to apply
- There will be a time restriction when the project needs to take place. Check the brief
- A profile picture is essential, without one you will not be eligible
- Work in your portfolio to support your application is also a must
- You’ll need to download the application form on the brief and fill it out
- When your portfolio is updated and application form saved click ‘apply now’
- Fill in the summary – your project in 100 words
- Upload your completed application form
- DON’T LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE

3) IDEAS FUND GREEN
What is it?
- Green is a summer brief – the next Green Fund will open in summer 2012
- There are eight prizes of £5,000
- It’s for creative projects that either address green issues or are produced in an environmentally sustainable manner
Checklist
- Read the Terms and Conditions – you’ll find these on the brief page
- You’ve must be 16-25 to apply
- There will be a time restriction when the project needs to take place. Check the brief
- We’re looking for ideas that involve a minimum of three people
- A profile picture is essential, without one you will not be eligible
- Work in your portfolio to support your application is also a must
- You’ll need to download the application form on the brief and fill it out
- When your portfolio is updated and application form saved click ‘apply now’
- Fill in the summary – your project in 100 words
- Upload your completed application form
- DON’T LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE

4) IDEAS FUND EDINBURGH
What is it?
- Edinburgh is an autumn brief – the next Edinburgh Fund will open in autumn 2011
- It’s for theatre companies taking a new production to Edinburgh
Checklist
- Read the Terms and Conditions – you’ll find these on the brief page
- You must be 16-25 to apply
- Your production is not eligible if it’s been performed at Edinburgh before
- There will be a time restriction when the project needs to take place. Check the brief
- A profile picture is essential, without one you will not be eligible
- Work in your portfolio to support your application is also a must
- You’ll need to download the application form on the brief and fill it out
- When your portfolio is updated and application form saved click ‘apply now’
- Fill in the summary – your project in 100 words
- Upload your completed application form

5) IDEAS FUND SHORTS
What is it?
- Shorts is an winter brief – the next Shorts Fund will open in February 2012
- There are eight prizes of £5,000
- It’s for funding five minute short films
Checklist
- Read the Terms and Conditions – you’ll find these on the brief page
- You must be 16-25 to apply
- Your film is not eligible if it’s been made before, it must be five minutes long
- It can be of any genre – animation, documentary, music video - whatever
- There will be a time restriction when the project needs to take place. Check the brief
- A profile picture is essential, without one you will not be eligible
- Work in your portfolio to support your application is also a must
- You’ll need to download the application form on the brief and fill it out
- When your portfolio is updated and application form is saved click ‘apply now’
- Fill in the summary – your project in 100 words
- Upload your completed application form
- DON’T LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE

6) TOP UP FUND
What is it?
- It’s open in February every year
- There are 20 prizes of £500
- You can apply with a project in any creative discipline to top up your project budget
- This is our member-led fund, so it is judged by our Top Up Panel of IdeasTap members
Checklist
- Read the Terms and Conditions – you’ll find these on the brief page
- You can apply in two age categories: 16-21 and 22-30
- There will be a time restriction regarding when the project needs to take place. Check the brief
- A profile picture is essential – without one you will not be eligible
- Work in your portfolio to support your application is also a must
- You’ll need to download the application form on the brief and fill it out
- When your portfolio is updated and application form saved, click ‘apply now’
- Fill in the summary – your project in 100 words
- Upload your completed application form
