I have just put 11 of my ballroom dance students through their paces and their ISTD exams! Yeah...... it took a lot of effort and focus, but the main thing is they did it and survived! I am feeling very proud, relieved ,happy and very inspired.

Quaestio

Hello Everyone

I just wanted to share some news with you all. I am choreographing a new piece at the moment called 'Quaestio'.
It deals with the inter relationship between
Masculinity - Bullying - Disability
Most fascinating and revealing. I want this to be a collaboration, so I am open for creative people to come on board!
So far I am using 9 incredibly talented and enthusiastic male contemporary dancers, a disabled male comedian and it has been very inspiring and exciting so far.
I love the fresh talent and despite bringing back plenty of college memories - I feel very positive and inspired to go further with this project. There is a lot of potential in it, almost too much. Every topic opens up another three sub categories it seems.
Some of my findings were that young male Londoners are aware of general problems, but due to the nature of London and their own chosen social circles as well as due to their education and confidence - they have grown independant.
It appears they don't (need to) worry. Times are slowly changing for the better, however my personal opinion is that a lot is still to be done and the danger I think I might have detected is that a lot of people seem to accept the way it is and just get on with it, which to me is a little sad. They either have grown numb or a very thick skin.
I do believe from the bottom of my heart that any kind of discrimination and bullying is utterly unacceptable regardless where, why, when and from whom.
That is why I am creating this piece.

Common Sense De-railed

Anyone wants to collaborate with me?
I went onto the district line last night - I needed to go to Aldgate East, but the train only went as far as Tower Hill which is most annoying since Aldgate East would be the next stop.
Not only you have to get up through the crowds, but also juggle your own bags, weave through other people's suitcases, dodge prams and all sorts - no, you also have to cross staircases to get to another platform the opposite site. I mean - what?

It was peak rush hour, hundreds of people getting that terminating train all at once and crossing the staircases, jammed packed - not much movement there. Then the next train arrived on the correct platform and another 300 people get off, onto the already jammed platform! No movement possible at all. Attendant shouting at everyone to clear swiftly - if only there had been space to clear into ...

All this for no evident reason at all, just because the first train stopped mid route as scheduled. Now my question is - WHY?

Why make it artificially awkward and difficult for everyone trying to get to places? That was pure madness and didn't make any sense at all, and anyone in their right mind would have kept the train on route.

I couldn't resist but to ask the attendant why in God's name that was going on .... no reply, just a snappy look. He just said, well the train is on the other track which ends there. I said: 'Yes, but someone made that decision to have the train go that way in the first place ......

Anyone wants to create some work about this???? Play, physical theatre, dance, photography or short film? I have plenty of ideas after that ordeal...

I must say that i agree with you. Being a foreigner and having sometimes to go to London and around, I found myself wondering why so much change of plateform and wait to go in one direction. That's an interesting idea. If there is something that can be done within a few days, I could come over. Let me know. Yours truly,

Does anyone know how to change the group picture? I had downloaded one, which use to show and it has now disappeared and I cannot find a function button to re-load it or change to another picture.
