15171061-b95b-4bcd-9968-a18500ebe3edAh, what an uplifting read. It's so easy to get so scared of failure that you end up making the "oh, I've left it too late now anyway" excuse and giving up.

795b1304-3561-4215-a821-a184015104d7A refreshing article. As a musician especially, there is a terrible stigma that if you didn't start your instrument before the age of 8, you've got no chance.

6be0fdb3-f4cb-49c5-abb5-a18401013843Great to see a piece on 'late' achievers. What strikes me about all of those featured is their pesistence and risk-taking - even when they thought they wouldn't make it in their preferred medium. There's so much talk about having a 'career' that we lose sight of the fact that we are likely to have several of them throughout our life - and some of them may not connect. Having never had a 'plan' as far as a career is concerned I've found myself running several successful businesses from publishing to software to dirty weekends for the filty rich (well, caving, canoeing, etc), managing galleries amongst others. Being an actor and writer is what I wanted to do age 5 - and this is what I currently do several decades later. Keep hold of that inner child's dreams and they can come true.

be0c8589-2bcd-4da4-99fa-a17f010c86ddThank you for writing this article, it has certainly alleviated my frustrating day weeping into a coffee trying to write a stand-up skit on the facets of Monopoly. Really interesting.
