IdeasTap is an arts charity for young, creative people at the start of their careers.
Whether it’s funding, jobs, career development, advice or creative collaborators you need, we can help – whatever your discipline. We work with major arts organisations to bring our members incredible, exclusive opportunities – from commissions to competitions, funding to training.
Did we mention that membership is free?
We help in a number of ways:
AKA cold, hard cash. It may sound crass, but we know that money is often the missing piece of the puzzle when trying to get a creative project off the ground. With our Ideas Fund we’ve tried to make the process of applying for funding as simple and low-hassle as possible. See the Funding section for details and to apply. It also provides details of hundreds of other arts funding schemes.
We work with our partners and many other arts organisations to offer you some pretty amazing opportunities in our Briefs section. We’ve sent our members on creative assignments all over the world, organised productions, exhibitions and events, and given away iPads, laptops, cameras and graphics tablets.
We also run something called the IdeasTap Spa. It has nothing to do with saunas and everything to do with professional development. The Spa is our programme of workshops, seminars, Q&As, CV clinics and studio headshots aimed at helping our members to build up expertise, confidence and contacts - and ultimately find work.
We fill our jobs section with all the arts and creative industry openings we can find that we think might be of interest to our members. We upload around 15 new jobs every weekday. If you’ve got a position you want our 90,000 members to see, just upload your job here – we don’t charge.
IdeasTap is a network of more than 90,000 young, creative people. We want to help our members meet likeminded collaborators, and we want this to be a community where people come to ask – and offer – advice. Our focus is on professional networking – IdeasTap is about your creative passion and career, not your personal life.
IdeasMag is where we bring you practical advice and interviews with successful figures from the creative industries – people who we hope you can learn from and be inspired by. It’s also where we highlight the successes of our members.
Hopefully that makes our purpose and what we can do for you a little clearer. But the best way to get to know more about us is to use the site. Sign up. Create a profile. Build your portfolio. Enter a brief. Find collaborators. It’s your site – we hope you enjoy it.
